New Pick And Mix Stand

January 7th, 2010

We have offered a candy bar as an additional extra with our chocolate fountains since we acquired Chocolate Experience.

This is ideal for most weddings, parties and smaller events, however due to demand from some of our corporate clients for a higher volume service, we have added a range of large pick and mix stands to our portfolio.

What A Difference

November 14th, 2009

When we acquired the Chocolate Experience Business, we found ourselves the owners of a large number of chair covers and organza sashes. We were all a bit skeptical about how these would fit in with our operations, but decided to give them a try anyway. Our first big job was recently when we provided 240 chair covers and sashes, along with decorated bay trees to a wedding in Norwich. The image below shows the difference the covers made to the general look and feel of the room, and I must admit to being surprised at just how effective they were.

Our Drinks Fountain Being Used To Dispense Fresh Orange Juice

Our Drinks Fountain was hired recently for a corporate event which being alcohol free resulted in the fountain being filled with fresh orange juice.
We were unsure of how this would be recieved, but in the event it dispensed almost 15 gallons in a little under 2 hours!

A Big Jump

October 7th, 2009

I have been involved with the development of a number of websites over the last 4 or 5 years. During this time I have always undertaken my own search engine optomisation, and for each website I have managed to get it up to the No1 position on Google.

When we took Chocolate Experience.co.uk over about 3 weeks ago it was languishing on page 21 of Google. I thought at the time I had my work cut out and put in place a 3 month plan to move it up the rankings.  I am quite pleased that in the first 2 weeks it has jumped from page 21 on Goole to page 5 for the term Chocolate Fountain Hire , which is quite a jump.

The trick now is in keeping it moving in that direction whilst at the same time increasing the ranking of other relavant search terms.

Nice And Easy

October 6th, 2009

We have carried out our first 4 chocolate fountain bookings, and I have to admit, that except for the clearing up which is messy, they are some of the easiest jobs we have had. Basically once the fountain is set up and operating correctly, there is little to do other than supervise the guests and keep wiping round.

In The Beginning

October 5th, 2009

Whilst Arthur and I have succesfully operated various catering operation for corporate clients over the last few years, one thing we decided we were not going to operate was chocolate fountains. We didn’t fancy the mess, there is a heck of a lot of competition out there and we decided to invest our efforts in the linup of products we already had.

It is therefore something of a surprise to find that we now own a Norfolk based chocolate fountain company! What happened was that I purchased a drinks fountain on Ebay and travelled down to Norfolk to collect it. Whilsts talking to the guy I was buying it from it transpired that due to personal problems he had decided to sell his business as a going concern. I enquired how much he wanted for the company without really seriously thinking about it. When he came back with a price I realised we could not really turn the offer down. After reaching home and talking it over we rang him up and agreed to his terms.

The result is that now we have quite a number of existing bookings for fountains, fruit palm trees and wedding chair covers. This blog is intended to be an account of just how the business develops, the problems, trials and tribulations we encounter, and new products and services we introduce.
